White Pen For Journaling &/or Mixed Media Artwork

I am calling out to all of you mixed media artist's to please help me find the "Ultimate White Pen", it would of course be for mixed media artwork.
I beg of you artist's out there in the mixed media world, please help me. One that doesn't run out with too much ink or paint so that you end up having a little puddle, one that doesn't skip as you're writing with it, one that works on any kind of paint or medium, basically one that just actually works well.
I am so frustrated, I swear I've bought every single one that is out there on the market (I think?), and they never seem to work right. In magazines like Stampington's "Art Journaling" I will read how those artist's suggest getting the Ranger Inkssentials white pen or the Sharpie Paint pens or whatever else that seems to work for them, but not me. HELP!!! Can anyone suggest a white pen to me that will actually work, I'm desperate?

  1. Non of the above...I too have over the years built up a collection of numerous white pens. Rangers dry up after two uses for me and are scratchy. My favourite white that I discovered about a year ago is a white Signo. Happy to pass on the info- just remember me when you pick the pen up time and time again without it clogging or pooling. You owe me a favour hmmmmmmm what could that beeeee heehee ;0)Let me know how you get on xx

  2. I'd also like to know... I think a lot of people have trouble with white pens....

On a yahoo group I am on, they recommend the Signo Uniball from Posca, and also Zig millenium and Zig Writer Memory system (in different colors).
I haven't tried them yet though, will have to order them online somewhere, as I cannot find it in any shop nearby...

  3. I use a white Signo also. I found that to work that best. I do have a collection of pens too. Now I'm learning to use a very thin brush and white paint!

  4. I use Signo, too. It's the only one I have found so far that won't skip or puddle. You might also get Copic's Opaque white.

  5. The Inkseentials was one I tried and it seemed to work, but then it to dies out. I wish that I had an answer. We could all be rich if we found the pen that did it all! :)

  6. Hi Shannon, I have been without the computer for a few months, but I am so happy to be up and running....White pens I agree with the others, the Signo work best for me. I have discovered this wonderful stationary store in Japan town San Francisco, which sells the best gel pens in just about every color and multiple tip sizes. They do not dry to a raised surface, but they don't puddle, they glide well and do not dry up between uses. I really came by to congratulate you on your fabulous artwork in Stampers Sampler. Bravo!
    Hugs, Gigi

  7. I'm a Sharpie paint-pen user...but never the oil-based one, only the water-based. You have to shake it for a LOOONG time to get the ink good & opaque. Sometimes it does spit on my work, but if it does I just roll with it. I always say the way to make a grazillion dollars is to invent a white pen that actually works well...sigh.

  8. Put my vote in for Signo as well - although the only place I can find them (I'm in Canada) is to order from Japan! If anyone has a more local link (especially Canadian) I am all ears and Hugs for a big thank you!!
Hope you're well Shannon - looks like you're still submitting like made to all of the various magazines! Congrats!

  9. I see one of my favourites among these...the Inksenntials pen...I love that one and the Signo Unibal pen...they both run smoothly and give a nice even ink run...believe me...I've tried most of the pens shown here but these two have worked the best for me :)
